In this article I explore the relationship of Anna Maria van Schurman and her teachers, especially the relationship with Fredericus Spanhemius. She wrote several Latin poems for him, inter alia the poem with the lines ‘Tu mihi Parnassus, tu mihi Apollo eris’.
